My nearest farm shop is Pinewood Nurseries about 1 mile from my home and is run by
Liz,her hubby Tom and Liz's sister,Marie.
They stock all sorts of goodies from meats,veg,cakes,bread,wine,beer,ice cream,cheese,breads and a gazillion other things..they also sell flowers and garden supplies.
Liz is a really lovely person who cares passionately about quality and excellent customer service...she tries to source her produce from local suppliers as much as possible.

As you can see the range of goods is extensive...and this is only half the shop!!!

They also have a small menagerie of animals on site such as these little piggies which are destined to become Pinewood Pork.

As well as piggies they have a couple of sheep.

And my favourites....a couple of very friendly goats who bounce around and run to greet you when you arrive...they also nibble my trouser legs!!!

Pinewood Nurseries is a great example of local produce and great customer service...there is a mass awakening of the public consciousness about environmental issues,and spiritually in general,and more and more of us will demand this kind of service as an antidote to the large supermarkets and their often impersonal service.

Took delivery of 6 pints of Organic,unpasteurised milk on Wednesday.
I ordered it on the internet on Sun eve,it was milked on Monday and delivered by courier on Wed morning from Hook and Son in East Sussex,near Eastbourne.
6 pints cost £11.40 including p&p...bargain!!!
I used to get my raw milk locally,in Datchet until the farm stopped selling it as the cost of having it inspected every couple of weeks was too prohibitive.
Raw milk is a quality food that it full of great proteins and fats that are vital to build health...unfortunately there is a determined effort by the big milk producers,aided and abetted by the authorities to drive raw milk out of existence...this means small milk producers are forced to buy expensive pasteurising equipment to make the milk "safe" for consuming.
In the USA..."land of the free"...the FDA...Food and Drug Administration...regularly prosecute,fine and send to jail raw milk farmers such is the drive to run them out of business in the name of "safety".

Popped into Tastes Deli in Eton High St last week  http://www.tastesdeli.co.uk/  to buy some Olive Oil and found this gem!!
It was voted Best Olive Oil In The World and was produced on a family run Organic Farm in Spain.
It tastes fantastic...Karen,aka Mrs.Miggins,who runs the Deli,bought all the rep had once she had tasted it.
I love Olive Oil and put it on just about every meal...I'm gonna savour this stuff...it's £14 a bottle!!!
It's beautifully presented in dark green glass,as all the best oils are,to protect it from light.comes complete with its own pouring spout and has a cool metal plaque on the bottle.

Just learned how to draw a Zendala thanks to  www.milliande.com ...Zentangle is the style of design and it's a Mandala because it's drawn inside a circle...this was my first effort and took me about an hour...I followed Milliandes YouTube video for most of it and then added a few designs of my own.

Food and drink manufacturers spend millions on hiring sports stars to promote their garbage.
Some examples:
Steve Redgrave's picture on fruit juice.
David Beckham promoting cola drinks.
England Football Team promoting Pizza's after Euro1996.
Lawrence Dallaglio advertising Burgers.
Michael Owen promoting Sport's drinks
Ian Botham advertising breakfast cereals.
Chris Hoy advertising breakfast cereals.
It saddens me to see such stars,who are linked to being fit and healthy,being used to promote such health destroying products.
If any of these stars really knew anything about health and nutrition they would be advertising Organic Fresh Food.

Last week I was at my friend Sarah's house and asked for some butter but she said she only had low fat margarine.
I gave her my usual "low fat rant" and demanded to see REAL BUTTER in the fridge next visit.
Next day she phones me from the supermarket to ask if Lurpak is any good...I tell her Organic is best but Lurpak is OK.
I went round to her house yesterday and in the fridge I see Lurpak LOW FAT MARGARINE and BUTTER COMPOSITE!!!
Cue rant # 2!!!
Seems she couldn't find butter (yeah,right)!! and that was next best but I suspect she has been so well educated to believe low fat = healthy and high fat = death that she automatically buys low fat.
Thus we see the power and indoctrination by the low fat food industry that has been extremely successful in convincing people that their man made crap is better for you than what Nature provided.
The low fat theory really took off in the 1970's and as a result saturated fat consumption has plummeted because people are scared of it.
At the same time,consumption of vegetable oils has increased massively..
According to the low fat "science" that should mean obesity,heart disease,high cholesterol and cancer should be declining because the "science" proves saturated fat is a major cause of those very diseases.
Well all those diseases are on the increase and massively so...why?...because you have been lied to...all that "science" was manipulated and engineered to fit the lie they want you to believe.
If saturated animal fats were unhealthy the human race would have died out thousands of years ago because it is exactly those fats that humans have been eating for centuries.
Ever seen a Crocodile or a Lion with heart disease?
Having said that I feel I must state that saturated animal fat is only as healthy as the animal it came from so Organic Meat is the only way to go.
Interestingly...when the fatty deposits of clogged arteries are analysed about 70% of the fat is polyunsaturated fat..which the experts tell us is good for us...and only about 30% is saturated fat!!!
