Several of my massage clients have just completed the London Marathon.
They have trained hard over the last few months and have availed themselves of my services to rub life back into their tired legs.
Today was the moment of truth and I am proud to post the times of these dedicated athletes...
Denisa 3hrs 31mins...her 1st marathon!!!
Brent 3hrs 38 mins...his 13th marathon...his goal is to do 50 of them!!!
Andrew 5hrs 2 mins...runs better in the cold and suffered in the heat.
Mike 4hrs 2 mins...aaargh...just missed sub 4hrs by a whisker.
Well done all of you.

I recently invested in some FiveFinger shoes which aim to mimic walking barefoot.
They are very comfortable and I have done 3 x 20 min runs on grass with no problems whatsoever...after my first run the residual tightness in my left hamstring I have had for a couple of weeks went away completely!!!
The shoes are lycra uppers with a thin rubber sole a bit like rock climbing shoes and allow the muscles of the feet to move as nature intended as they are not restricted as in a normal shoe.
They take a bit of getting used to and the first day my feet were quite sore but I quickly got used to them.

This time of year I am always busy with sports massage because it is almost London Marathon time.
Most of my massage clients are runners and many of them are running it this year so may I send out a big Thank You to all of them for keeping me busy!!!
This week I have managed to have two massages from the legend that is Stuart Peach...thanks homey!!!
I have had a tight left hamstring the last two weeks and when I ran it was very sore and my left hip rotators and adductors seized up too but thanks to some foam roller deep tissue mobilisation, stretching and Stuarts elbows..aaaarrgghh...it is much better and I can run with no problems.
